AERO RECIP ANNOUNCES NEXT P&W P985 TRAINING SESSION FOR KETCHIKAN, ALASKA
Sessions Recently Approved By FAA As “IA Refresher”

Winnipeg, Canada – Aero Recip, Canada’s largest piston aircraft engine overhaul facility, is pleased to announce its next Pratt & Whitney training session, this one serving operators in Ketchikan, Alaska. After expanding its recent Anchorage training sessions from one to two days due to strong demand, Ketchikan is a natural fit for a region that relies so heavily on aviation to support the local tourism industry. “These sessions are oriented towards maintenance techniques and sharing knowledge amongst peers,” explains Aero Recip GM Tracey Gregorash. “With Beaver aircraft such an important part of life, it’s crucial to stay knowledgeable. Passing on tricks of the trade from the older generation to the younger generation is a way to keep these vital aircraft in the air making money.”

Ketchikan operators can be assured that the sessions will deliver value for their time, Aero Recip bringing almost 30 years experience, and its recently acquired FAA certification to each session. “Each session is an FAA Approved IA Refresher,” explains Aero Recip PRM Ron Despins, “Participants receive an R985 Technical Theory & Maintenance Certificate, which features 8 hours of IA Refresher Training, and a session handout highlighted by PowerPoint presentation slides with excerpts from the P&W R985 Overhaul Manual.”

Training is a multi-media, two-way exchange between Aero Recip and session attendees, with Aero Recip focusing on P&W R985 engine theory and maintenance accompanied with real world experiences. “Participants use the handout for future reference. It’s a valuable tool.”

At the end of the day, the mood shifts from training to an industry mixer for drinks, appetizers and few friendly jokes between pilots and mechanics. The next session will be held on October 4, 2017 at the Cape Fox Lodge. For details, contact Tracey Gregorash at 1.800.561.5544 or tgregorash@aerorecip.com
